The 2014 Long Island Winterfest, Live On The Vine, is almost here and what a festival it is shaping up to be! You DO NOT want to miss this!
A six week long, mid-winter music festival, the seventh annual Long Island Winterfest, Live on the Vine is all about enjoying excellent, local food and drink and grooving to live performances of talented musicians, all in Long Island’s unique vineyard tasting rooms and other venues on the East End.
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner (I know – didn’t we just celebrate Thanksgiving?!?) and what better gift could you give that special one in your life than a Valentine’s Day Romantic Getaway?
With our Lovers’ Magic, Romantic Getaway package, you’ll not only be giving your loved one a romantic visit to Long Island’s Wine Country on the North Fork, you’ll also be giving an endless parade of special surprises
Spending your 2013 New Year’s Eve on Long Island’s North Fork offers you some gentler attractions than those typically found in the city; pleasant alternatives to the routine and the shrill.
We’ve gathered a few of the alternatives together, here, as something of a guide for you, should you find yourself leaning our way come the turn of the year.
The sun has paled, the air gone crisp, the days shorter – that’s right, it’s time for Christmas in Cutchogue once again!
Christmas in Cutchogue kicks off with a fun-filled, hour long magic show at the Cutchogue Fire Department with cookies, candy canes, cider, hot cocoa and other holiday treats.
After this hour of satisfying snacks and eye-popping prestidigitation, watch the skies: it’s Santa!
No, I’ve not had too much to drink (talk to me again after 5, why don’tcha) – I’m talking about the upcoming festival called Shellabration in North Fork’s Greenport Village to both celebrate the Peconic Bay harvest and promote the health of local waters.
Sample, savor, and salivate over the very best of freshly harvested, Peconic Bay shellfish prepared by Greenport’s leading chefs in conjunction with the finest wines North Fork vintners have to offer.
I’ve got your attention now, haven’t I? I thought so!
Wine Enthusiast magazine named Long Island vineyards one of the ‘Top Ten Wine Regions in the World’ earlier this year, surprising some folks but not those of us who live or love it here: of course we are!
Not only do we have wonderful wines made by talented winemakers at established vineyards but we have the *atmosphere* of a world-class wine region (we call it the “North Fork” but let’s keep that between ourselves so the rest of Long Island doesn’t get jealous, eh?).
The Long Island Aquarium and Exhibition Center is, as the name implies, two great family attractions in one!
First is the full-scale aquarium, themed around the “Lost City of Atlantis” and blending natural science with fanciful legend for an entertaining and educational experience for all ages.
The Long Island Aquarium features, among other things, one of the biggest, live coral reef displays in the western hemisphere. There’s also a 120,000-gallon shark tank that, if you’re feeling gutsy, you can enter … in a shark-proof cage, of course!
