Halloween Lighthouse CruiseCome to Greenport, Long Island this Halloween for a special, Halloween lighthouse cruise to the Long Beach Bar Light!
From haunted houses to corn mazes to costume parties, Halloween has something for everyone. Here the North Fork is no exception. We have lots of great things to do for this spooky holiday. One of the best is the annual Halloween lighthouse cruise to the Long Beach Bar Light – also known as the Bug Light!
The East End Seaport Museum and Marine Foundation in Greenport owns, operates, and maintains the historic Long Beach Bar or “Bug” Lighthouse. The light serves as the working gateway to Greenport, Shelter Island, and Peconic Bay.
Tour cruises of the Bug Light are available year-round through the East End Seaport Museum. near the end of October, however, things get spooky in a fun way with the Halloween lighthouse cruises!
The East End Seaport Museum offers two, separate Halloween Excursions to the Bug Lighthouse.
The first is the adults-only version of the Halloween cruise, occurring on Saturday, October 29th, from 4pm to 6pm. The adults-only Halloween cruise includes your voyage to and from the Bug Light, which has been decorated in “ghoulish decor.” Wine and cheese will accompany an evening of ghost stories, lighthouse tours, and a costume contest. Guests are urged to dress in their Halloween costume for the costume contest, which includes prizes for the top picks.
The second Halloween lighthouse cruise is a family event, occurring Sunday, October 30th, 4pm to 6pm. It, too, includes a chance to explore the lighthouse, hear ghost stories, and participate in a costume contest. There will also be games, cider, and snacks.
