New Suffolk Chowderfest 2017Come enjoy live music, great fresh seafood, and more at the New Suffolk Chowderfest! May 27th, 2017 at the New Suffolk Waterfront overlooking beautiful Peconic Bay.
The annual New Suffolk Chowderfest is rapidly becoming a beloved North Fork tradition! And why not? Who doesn’t enjoy a chance to taste a variety of locally prepared chowders? Chefs from kitchens around the North Fork will be bringing in their very best take on this classic comfort dish.
Local seafood festivals of this type are a great way to discover new chefs and new restaurants. It’s also a great way to get your teeth into some delicious fresh, local seafood!
Along with the incredible selection of chowders, New Suffolk Chowderfest will also tempt your taste buds with a full BBQ lunch. Sample the chowders, vote for your favorite, then fill up on some delicious barbecue. This is also great for those who enjoy an outing but who aren’t so keen on shellfish.
Chowderfest will once again be rocking, this year to the upbeat, vintage rock sound of Who Are Those Guys. Performing for over 25 years, Who Are Those Guys were inspired by the greats of the past to create new music with that classic rock vibe: Neo-Classic Rock.
Other activities at Chowderfest 2017 include 50 varieties of colorful perennial plants for sale and a Chinese Auction. At a Chinese auction, you buy tickets to bid on a variety of items. You bid on items by dropping a ticket into its bag. Once bidding is over, they stir the contents of each bag and draw the winning tickets at random. Bidders may buy as many tickets as they wish and bid as many times on any item as they wish. It is all great fun with the proceeds going towards the restoration of the New Suffolk waterfront.
One of the best parts of the New Suffolk Chowderfest is the location: New Suffolk Waterfront on Peconic Bay. The waterfront complex is 3.4 acres of historic beachfront in the heart of New Suffolk. Visitors enjoy sweeping views of Cutchogue Harbor and Robins Island, along with excellent shopping and dining.
