You’ll find all manner of organic and local items at the Greenport Farmers Market: artisanal sparkling fruit juice beverages from Captains Neck & Co.; fruit veggies, meat and eggs from Catapano Farms, Hodun Farms, and Mar-Gene Farm; delicious baked goods from Jeannie’s Treats; fresh, eastern Long Island oysters from Race Rock Oysters – and so much more!
Farmers markets seem to be on the rise of late and that’s a good thing. Sustainability begins with locally grown and prepared food, as well as other goods, and a farmers market fosters a greater sense of community between growers, artisans, and their clientele – all of whom are likely neighbors!
Not to say that “outside” visitors aren’t welcome to the Greenport Farmers Market. On the contrary!
