In Long Island Wine Country, May is “Run for the Roses” month.  During the month of May, one dollar from the sale of all rose wine (at participating Long Island wineries) will be donated to CancerCare.  CancerCare is a national non-profit organization offering free social services to individuals with cancer and their families.  Cancer is stressful on all families and friends and Long Island has dedicated May as a way to give back and donate to CancerCare.
This year there will be over 20 wineries participating in Run for the Roses and each have created their own special event and offering during the month of May.  Restaurants are also getting in on Run of the Roses and are including offerings such as free corkage and Claudio’s Restaurant & Clam Bar will be featuring special rose wines by the glass.  Vintage Tours will also be held every Saturday and Sunday during May and include visits to all wineries that are participating in the Run for the Roses Promotion and each passenger will receive a complimentary glass of rose paired with their lunch.
This is the perfect way to support the fight against cancer and enjoy sampling great rose wines at the same time.
During the month of may the Arbor View House will be offering a bottle of Rosé wine and cheese from Catapano’s farm when you book the Rosé Room for two nights.

Visit the Arbor House View Bed and Breakfast during the month of May we will be sending a portion of our receipts to support CancerCare.

It is time for Long Island’s 2010 Winterfest and this year’s theme is Jazz on the Vine.  This is the third year for this theme, as it has become very popular.  The events are numerous and they plan to have over 70 free jazz concerts over a six week period from February 13th to March 21st, so make sure not to miss out.  Make plans to visit the East End of Long Island and hear over 80 outstanding jazz musicians perform at local winery tasting rooms throughout the duration of Winterfest.
So who is coming to town?  Maybe it is just easier to say “who isn’t coming” to Jazz on the Vine.  Contemporary music by the John Ellis Trio, modern jazz by Jessica Elbert Quartet, bop by Michael Weiss Trio, Brazilian music by Roni Ben Hur Trio, and the list continues.  Since all of the Jazz concerts are free of charge, it truly makes for a great venue to enjoy the jazz and sample the local vineyards wines.
To make the decision to visit Jazz on the Vine even easier, Arbor View Bed and Breakfast has put together a special Romantic Getaway package which includes a two night stay, two massages, a horse drawn carriage vineyard tour, discounts for North Fork wineries, an aromatherapy bath, a gift certificate towards a romantic dinner, and it also includes a gift basket complete with sparkling wine, chocolate truffles, nuts, cheese, crackers, and fruit!  Reserve today to enjoy the best of the 2010 Winterfest with Jazz on the Vine.
