Fifth Street Beach and Park – Foot of Fifth Street, Greenport
Greenport’s Fifth Street Beach and Park is a gorgeous beach with a playground and grassy picnic area located between 5th and 6th Streets on Peconic Bay.

Norman L. Klipp Park – Manhanset Avenue, Greenport
A spacious beach with a park and boat ramp located at the end of Manhanset Avenue in Greenport. Also known as Gull Pond Beach, Norman L. Klipp Park offers clear views of Shelter Island and its harbor. Lifeguards are on duty during the summer season and the beach gains a playground for the kiddies.

Greenport Historic District Walking Tour
Greenport Village is fairly compact, fitting easily within 1.2 square miles. This makes it the perfect size for the self-guided, walking tour of its historic district, a map of which is available in pdf form here.

Arshamomaque Pond Preserve – 63445 Main Road, Southold
Arshamomaque Pond Preserve is part of the Long Island Pine Barrens Maritime Reserve, listed for protection because of its biological, scenic, and recreational value. Centered on the Peconic Bays, Arshamomaque Pond Preserve is a federally designated National Estuary and ranks as one of the most valuable and productive coastal and marine ecosystems remaining in the nation.

Kenney’s Beach – Kenney’s Road, Southold
Located at the dead-end of Kenney’s Road in Southold, Kenney’s Beach is connected to McCabe’s Beach by a half-mile beach trail, making the two a beachcomber’s paradise.

McCabe’s Beach – North Sea Road, Southold
Overlooking Long Island Sound and located one half mile to the east of Kenney’s Beach on North Sea Road in Southold, McCabe’s Beach offers public restrooms, lifeguards, and permit parking.

Southold Town Beach – 53005 Route 48, Southold
A popular spot for sunbathers, Southold Town Beach boasts 960 feet of beach fronting Long Island Sound. Other features include a picnic pavilion, sandy playground area, swing, and lifeguards in the summer.

Goose Creek Beach – North Bayview Road, Southold
Goose Creek Beach is popular with both sunbathers and kayakers – the latter because of Goose Creek’s calm waters. Located at the head of Goose Creek, the beach offers easy access to both Long Island Sound and Goose Creek.

Dam Pond Maritime Preserve – 11855 Route 48, East Marion
Dam Pond Maritime Preserve is 36 acres of scrubland, grasslands, and tidal flats dotted with saltwater marshes and woodlands surrounding a protected bay. A walking trail that winds throughout is 1.2 miles long.

Goldsmith’s Inlet Park – Route 48, Peconic
35 acre Goldsmith’s Inlet Park features old growth woodlands and tidal wetlands with a 1/2 mile trail leading to Long Island Sound.

Orient Beach State Park – Route 25 Orient
45,000 feet of frontage on Gardiner’s Bay, Orient Beach State Park is a waterfront wonderland located on the easternmost tip of Long Island’s North Fork.
