Vineyard on Long Island

Vineyard in Long Island, NY
When you stay at our B&B near Greenport, NY, you’ll be close to the majority of the wineries of Long Island Wine Country.

Yes, the Hamptons on the South Fork of Long Island has those beautiful white sand beaches while our lovely North Fork beaches are pebbly. It’s true. But if you love to be where the wine is, find your Long Island Wine Country lodging at our North Fork bed and breakfast. So When you stay at our B&B near Greenport, NY, you’ll be close to the majority of the wineries of Long Island Wine Country.
Far and away, the majority of Long Island wineries are clustered on the North Fork. This is partly because of the sunny yet protected maritime climate. The glacial soils also drain well while providing enough nutrients and moisture for the vines. A lot of people on the East Coast still don’t realize that a great wine-producing area is only a short drive away! However, wine aficionados have gotten the message. The wine-making industry has grown considerably since the first winery, Hargrave Vineyards in Cutchogue, opened in 1975. The Long Island Wine Region now has 42 wineries open to the public overall, with 3000 acres of vines. The American Viticultural Areas of Long Island–North Fork of Long Island, The Hamptons, and Long Island–are recognized as some of the finest grape growing and wine producing AVAs in the country.
Most of the acreage is planted with Vinifera grapes. The main varietals are Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, but others include Chenin Blanc, Dolcetto, Gewurztraminer, Lemberger, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Sangiovese, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Syrah, Tocai Friulano, and Viognier.
The wineries of Long Island frequently have events throughout the year, such as  Music on the Vine,, in the winter months, Summer Wine Camps and Wine Spectator’s Harvest East End typically in late August. Beyond these special events, most wineries of Long Island offer both tastings and tours. For more information about the Long Island Wine Country, visit LIwines.com.
Great wines are being produced only a short drive from New York City and other major East Coast cities. Come to Long Island’s North Fork and experience some of the best wines in the U.S. without having to travel very far! Our Bed and Breakfast near Greenport is just the place to stay during your tour of the East End Long Island wineries.

Our Long Island inn’s Six Senses Aromatherapy stimulates the senses and heightens the romance!

Have a Long Island NY Romantic Getaway at our North Fork bed and breakfast.  We are great believers in bringing ease and relaxation to our guests in every way we can. One of these methods is the use of aromatherapy. An aromatherapy bath will stimulate your six senses.  This form of alternative medicine uses essential oils, music and other sources of mood-enhancing aromas to bring about good health.   This service is unique to our Bed and Breakfast here on the North Fork.
For thousands of years, humans have used the essence of plants for healing purposes. But it is Dr. Jean Valnet who is credited with founding the modern aromatherapy movement during the mid 20th century. Today, aromatherapy continues to benefit millions of people around the world…including guests at our Long Island B&B!
In particular, our Six Senses Aromatherapy is unique to Arbor View’s spa treatments. We have specially formulated this combination of sensory delights to stimulate sight, sound, smell, taste, touch and…romance!
The Six Senses treatment is often given after dinner as a very special “dessert.” Your bathroom is decorated with candles. We play romantic music of your choice. There are delicious champagne and chocolate truffles, and rose petals are scattered about the room. A bath of carefully combined essential oils soothes and relaxes. We can also provide a scroll printed with romantic poetry to be read to your loved one. This treatment is altogether refreshing, strengthening and eases away stress. It’s truly a wonderful way to show someone you care.

Long Island Romantic Getaway

The Arbor View House Six Senses Aromatherapy is also a perfect way to surprise your partner. Arbor View House - your small Long Island wedding venue

Why ruin what’s supposed to be the most magical day of your life with all the stress, planning, and debt of a big wedding? There’s a much easier way at our small Long Island wedding venue!

Big weddings may seem fun and romantic from the outside but let me tell you, once you’re embroiled in making one happen, those illusions are often quickly dispelled. Of course, if money is no object and all you’re interested in is how good a show you put on, then by all means go right ahead.

If you’re just wanting to express your love and commitment without breaking the bank, you’ll probably prefer a more intimate wedding ceremony.

Inexpensive vs Cheap

All too often, people think that an inexpensive wedding means a cheap one. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Fine things need not be expensive. On the flip side, you can pay a lot for chintz!

In other words, it’s not the money but the style and care going into your ceremony that defines whether it’s “cheap” or not.

Intimate wedding ceremonies take less time to plan, with fewer details involved. This means far less stress and more flexibility when planning your ceremony.

A smaller guest list means a more intimate ceremony. While it’s tempting to share your special day with EVERYONE, those big crowds can be very impersonal. With a smaller crowd, you are more sure of connecting with your guests. You’ll also be more likely to find a few moments alone with your intended, as well as more control over the feel of the wedding, itself. PRICELESS.

A smaller wedding can also mean more money for things like the photographer, catering, or a band. Then again, maybe you can save it for your honeymoon or even your new home together!

At the very least, you’ll be buying fewer regrets with a small wedding.

Small Long Island Wedding Venue

Arbor View House Bed and Breakfast is your answer to the small Long Island wedding venue question.

We can help with planning all aspects of your ceremony: from music and catering to photography and a wedding officiant. Even better, our Long Island bed and breakfast can host many of your overnight guests for the event!

If you’d like to learn more about how we can help you make the most of your special day, give us a call at (631) 477-8440!

North Fork Craft Brewery TourIt wasn’t that long ago that Long Island could boast only one craft brewery. Now there are more than 40 and Long Island’s North Fork region is home to many of them. Come discover some of Long Island’s best craft beers on a North Fork craft brewery tour!
There are a number of great reasons to come explore Long Island’s North Fork: wineries, golf courses, galleries, shopping, dining, you name it. On of the more recently popular pastimes, however, is going on a North Fork craft brewery tour.
Many craft breweries are happy to show visitors around their operations and explain their process. Even those craft breweries that don’t offer tours will usually have a tasting room or even an onsite brewpub. This is an excellent way to sample a brewery’s full line of beers. It’s also where you’ll find specialty and seasonal beers that may see only limited – or even no – distribution. What a treat!
